Thisis a Large, Vintage, Walnut Herman Miller, George Nelson Designed 2Pedestal Executive Office Desk and was most likely built between 1958and 1963. The desk is from the Herman Miller Company’s ExecutiveOffice Group 8000 Series and is model 8865. The left pedestal has twodrawers, an upper storage drawer and a lower file drawer. The rightside is a 3-drawer pedestal. The \"floating\" walnut veneerdesktop measures 84 inches long and 36 inches wide, 1-1/4 inch thick,and has a height of 29.5 inches. The attached privacy screen is inexcellent condition. The desk is marked on two of the drawer handleswith the Herman Miller name and logo, and has labels inside of twodrawers that designate it as a George Nelson design. All of thedrawers open and close smoothly and can be locked. There are 3 keysfor the 2 locks. There are some small scratches, drill holes, tinyareas of veneer loss, an area of white paint, and areas of lightfading. Holes were drilled into the top front of each pedestal toinstall plastic brackets to hold electric cords and two holes weredrilled into the bottom of each pedestal. Overall this HermanMiller/George Nelson walnut desk is in very good vintage condition.(See Photos)

Thisdesk easily disassembles for transport. The top can be removed with 6bolts and the two pedestals are attached to the modesty screen with afew screws. According to the 1961 Herman Miller product brochure the84 x 36 inch desk top is the largest available and weighs 110 pounds.
