Collectible vintage marked Carl Deffner Esslingen Germany made copper lidded tureen.See shield mark in picture 2 of the crossed halberds weaponery with the CDE initials.Classic hammered detail is banded around lower body and also on the top.Six (3 on each side) repousse squares decorate the upper body with stylized late art nouveau, early art deco motifs.The handles and finial on the lid are brass.11.75\" handle to handle width.Opening 9.5\".Base 8\" height. With lid overall height about 14.5\"Overall condition is very nice for a decorative object of this vintage. There are some dings that can be noted on pictures 4,5,6 views concentrated on one side while the other side is barely affected. I left the patina unpolished in the condition I acquired it in several years ago. Inside is tarnished with verdegris shown in picture 7. Please examine pictures carefully for the condition of this vintage item. As Is.
