This fantastic doll was crafted in Germany around 1912 and kept in the same family since purchase. Her last owner nicknamed her \"Ginny\" (short for Virgina). Ginny features an all-bisque porcelain head with big, brown, side-glancing googly eyes and slanted chestnut eyebrows. Her eyes are lined with dark brown eyeliner and have curly painted upper lashes. This treasure of a doll has Kestner\'s signature upturned button nose and is smiling mischievously. Her watermelon-shaped mouth is closed and is a delightful dark pink hue. Ginny\'s nostrils are accented with paint and flared as though she is playing a fun game with her family. Her hair is a deep Oak color and is endearingly bobbed with her bangs brushing her eyes.Ginny\'s wood body is in very good, antique condition. Her arms and legs are comprised of carved, ball-jointed wood and still have the original paint on them. Her hands and fingers are distinct and delicately curling and her fingernails are painted the same shade as her lips.
Ginny\'s right arm does have cracks in the paint - I have pictured this extensively for you.This rare, 13-inch Kestner doll is all original except for her wig/hair, which has been professionally replaced circa 1990. As stated, her original finish shows cracking in some places and there is a rubbed greenish spot on her elbow. Additional pictures showing condition are available to interested, serious parties, as well as her original family\'s history of her.
Her original owner was the lady seen in the 12th and last picture, the current owner\'s aunt. Ginny is in need of a new, loving home and \"mommy,\" someone who will cherish her as she was cherished so many years ago when new.
