Gold Badge -- Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition 1909 Seattle --Director's Medal:
$2450.00

Magnificent Gold Medal / Badge from the 1909 Alaska YukonPacific Exposition, held in Seattle, Washington, which was given to the Director of Exploitation. The reverse of the medalhas the name of the Director "James F. Wood" neatly engraved in script. It has enameledbluelettering, blue enameled "Exposition Seattle 1909", and red enamelcenters to the flowers right and left. Finely made by a talented jeweler engraver. In case you are not familiar with the title "Director of Exploitation" it means Director of Advertising. I did not know that until I obtained the medal. This wonderful medal weighs 22 grams andis unmarked but probably 10-K Gold, possibly 14-K Gold, and I guarantee it to be at least 10-K Gold. There is a tiny test mark on the edge and a tiny test scratchon the back. The size of the medal is approximately 1 3/4" by 2" and it's condition is superb. Medals presented to the Directors of Worlds Fairs and Expositions are few and far between, as few were made, and probably some were melted over the years for their gold. A rare opportunity to acquire a fabulous Gold medal from a U.S.Exposition.
