Where you see snow continuously in the daytime sun or continuously in the daytime shade, melting or not melting, settled more in one area than another, greening around its perimeter, it means that that particular area of snow is colder than its melted neighboring areas. Why should that particular area of snow stay colder longer, specially if it\'s in the Springtime?
ANSWER: There are more minerals beneath that particular area of snow and/or the bedrock is closer to the surface, possiblyby inches. Great potential for a metal detector gold find.
