Gorgeous piece of natural Gold vein in Quartz from northern California,
specifically the area near Downieville in the Mother Lode - sometimes
generically referred to as \'16 to 1\' , after the name of a famous mine there.
It weighs 2.29 grams -or- 11.47 carats, ALL USABLE.
Measures approx 13/32\" X 3/4\" X slightly thicker than 1/8\".
Pictures above show both sides and all edges of the piece.
Snowy white quartz and shiny showy gold make this desirable and,
if cut into a cabochon by a competent lapidary, would make an
outstanding stone for an article of jewelry. Or keep as-is as a specimen.
