Clean out crevices in thebedrock or sample the gravels in a stream or river bed before carrying in theheavy equipment. This short version along with a gold pan is great to have alongwhen hiking and camping. Breaks down to 20\" and fits into most backpacks. I built the first one of thisbasic configuration about2011 and this final product was developedafter using other guns that were hard to open and retrieve the gravels, and becausethe seals were constantly in need of adjustment. The screw on collection jar makes it easy to empty.Extra jars allow you to save and analyze the sediment and try to determine fromwhere and how far it has traveled. The seals are rubber and laser cut for a tightfit, and so very little, if any adjustment is ever needed.
