This sale is for astunning example of a pyritised crinoid fossilof the species Pentacrinites fossilisfrom the world famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK.

The fossil measures 40 mm (1.58 inches) across. The thin crinoid plate contains a partial head with lovely detailed arms and pinnules as well as some cirri. The fossil has a beautiful layer of pyrite on the surface giving it a shine. These fossils are uncommon and hard to find. This is a real one-off little fossil.

Around 195 million years old (Sinemurian, Early Jurassic), this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
