On offer today is asplendid good gauge tablespoon in Kings pattern double struck. Assayed in London,1845. Year letter K. Makers\' mark isfor Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater.It is a fraction over 8.875 inches in length and weighs a very good 108 grams (3.47 troy ounces). This piece is engraved with a nice bird with a twig crest,definitely no erasures either.
It has a diamond heel.
The condition isexcellent with a thick gauge stem and it has plenty of life left in it yet.
A useful addition to a canteen.
A fine piece of early Victorian English silver.
