This sale is for an absolutely wonderful antique 19th century/1800s handmade faceted, jet glass beaded dangle collar/bodice insert trim of the Victorian era. It is in quite good condition with no major flaws that would prevent one from using for restoration projects, study, etc. The center needs some re-stitching and there may be some little repairs throughout, i.e., stitches here and there, but nothing that is terrible.....the dangle strands are in remarkably good condition. Photos 9-10 show the underside of thick brown cotton thread which is indicative of textiles of this era......Please study all photos carefully for details. This most likely was removed from a garment/cape/mantle in which it would have been hand-stitched to the back of a collar or used as a bodice front for a gown. I have seen this used both ways.....This is a fairly good-size, however, please wait until Tuesday for detailed measurements, since I am listing late at night and do not have the item readily available.....thank you. The beadwork is very tight with irregular-size and shape beads.
