Beautiful Antique white long Dress* from the late 1800\'s-early 1900\'s. I am not anywhere near a seamstress, so please let my pictures help you in determing from your expertise.

I know it is homemade. In looking at the stitching under magnification, I am comfortable to say the lace & dress are hand sewn with very precise stitching. I can only imagine the time it must have taken to make. The lace areas are a stretchy material. The rest of the dress I think is cotton.

*4 buttons open as a flap. I don\'t know if this is just to get in the dress (as the neckline otherwise would not fit over a head)? Perhaps it is a nightgown, but it sure was a lot of work to just sleep in - in my opinion.

The approximate measurements are 53\" from shoulder to bottom hem. The shoulder to shoulder is approx 15 1/2\" across the top. The neck measures approx. 15\" running the tape measure all around when buttoned. The middle of the dress measure approx. 38\" side seam to side seam. It reminds me of a tent dress, so mainly the shoulder - arm and neck openings would be about the main areas where size would matter. let me know if you need any other measurements.

I don\'t see any rips, holes or other stains, other than the 4 small stains I show in my pictures. I held a ruler next to them, to help show size. My first two pictures are stains on the front and the last two pictures are on the back of the dress. This was a dress made by and for our relative. She was born in 1872.
