What’s not to like about these two girls? The embroidered collars, the matching dresses, the bright gold rings and brooches, the baby blue bows on their heads. Even more than that, it’s their expressions and their body language. Look at those eyes looking back at us! Notice that one girl has gold earrings, including a cross, while the other has none.
IDENTIFICATION. Sticker on back with handwritten text: \"Mary Southard 1864 - 1891 and Harriet Smart 1873 - 1925.\" Please note that the last letter of the 2nd surname is difficult to decipher, so it may be something other than \'Smart.\' Please see scans.
SIZE. Approximately 3 5/8 x 2 1/2 inches.
CONDITION. Light bends. Tiny scrape below lip of standing girl. Black spots on the sleeve of the seated girl. Blemish in torso of seated girl and blemish below the hand of standing girl.
APPEARANCE. Very shiny! Excellent body language and facial expressions. The gold is bright. Very good contrast. They fill the plate.
