Featured in this sale is a magnificentcabinet vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This piece is almost 5\" tall and just over 3\" wide. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2592 and the production year XXIX (1929).The vase features a beautiful, incised arts-and-crafts design of cattails framed in panels encircling the vase.This gorgeous glaze is a thick, matte dusty rose with a green overspray/overdrip that has curdled on the vase creating a very dramatic effect. This glaze color combination was one of the most popular that Rookwood produced in the 1920s. The vase does show some very tiny glaze variations and skips, and there is some very minor peppering in the glaze right at the rim. The interior shows slight staining from gentle use; however, the outside is very clean. Check out all 7 photos! This gorgeous vase would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet.
