Featured in this sale is a magnificentflower vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent, near-perfect condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This piece is about 4-1/2\" tall, 3-1/2\" wide at the shoulder, and 2-1/2\" wide at the rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2090 and the production year XXVIII (1928).This vase was produced during the transition period bridging arts and crafts and art deco. It features a beautiful, incised arts-and-crafts design of lotus leaves with trillium blooms encircling the vase.This gorgeous glaze is a thick, matte soft pink or dusty rose with a green overspray that has curdled on the vase. This glaze color combination was one of the most popular that Rookwood produced in the 1920s and into the art-deco 1930s. The vase does show some very tiny glaze variations or spots on the rim, and appears to have been gently used.The vase is very clean both inside and out.Check out all 8 photos!
