Featured in this sale is a magnificentflower vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This heavy piece is almost 5\" tall, 4-1/2\" wide at the shoulder, and just under 3\" wide at the rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2589 and the production year XXVIII (1928).The vase features a beautiful, ovoid shape with a frieze of leaves, branches and blossoms encircling the shoulder.This gorgeous glaze is a thick, matte dusty rose with a green overspray that has curdled on the vase creating a very dramatic effect. This glaze color combination was one of the most popular that Rookwood produced in the 1920s. The vase does show some glaze drips andminor peppering. The vase has been gently used but is very clean both inside and out.Check out all 8 photos! This gorgeous vase would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet.
