Gorgeous preserved Old Russian imperial homemade candle from the 19th century - RARE! This sale offers a superb preserved old Russian imperial homemade candle from the 19th century. It is extremely beautifully made and decorated with floral, geometrical and animal ornaments. There is a stand on which the candle is attached. When it was done it was probably gilded with gold, but now it is covered with a natural patina. The stand weighs 89 grams and length 150 mm/ 5.9 inches. The candle weighs 354 grams, with a diameter of 70 mm/ 2.8 inches and a height potion attached at position 400 mm/ 15.7 inches.
I am not a specialist, but the homemade candle looks completely authentic and with natural patina. I bought this item from an antique shop in Varna, Bulgaria. There were other Old Russian objects and books that were purchased from the descendants of Russian gentry who live in the city and surrounding villages. They settled here because they left Russia after the victory of the October Socialist Revolution of 1917. Excellent unique and very rare item for collectors and antiquarians - you get what you see in the photos.
