Hand-hammered sterling silver coffee and tea set. Made by Gorham in Providence, 1905-10. This set comprises coffeepot, teapot, creamer, sugar, and waste bowl. Each: allover hand hammering with chased and repousse fruiting grapevine. Vine rims and handles (handles have grape bunches and leaves). Ball finials with applied leaves. Dome covers (coffeepot and teapot covers hinged). A beautiful craftsman-inspired design with unusual motif (grapevine) for a coffee and tea service.

Hallmarks include no. A4651 (coffeepot), A4652 (teapot), A4653 (sugar), A4654 (creamer), and A4655 (waste bowl). Teapot and waste bowl have date symbol for 1905. Coffeepot, creamer, and sugar have date symbol for 1910. Very good condition with rich period patina and fine definition.

Dimensions: Coffeepot: H 10 7/8 x W 9 1/8 x D 5 in. Teapot: H 7 x W 10 1/4 x D 6 in. Creamer: H 6 x W 5 1/4 x D 3 1/2 in. Sugar: H 6 1/2 x W 8 x D 5 1/2 in. Waste bowl: H 4 3/8 x W 7 1/2 x D 5 1/4 in. Total weight: 104.2 troy ounces.

With: Antique silver plate tray. Rectangular with end bracket handles and fruiting grapevine applied to rim. Well has central frame (vacant) surrounded by scrolls, flowers, and foliage. Appears to be unmarked. Condition: Sturdy with some rosing. Dimensions: H 2 1/2 x W 27 1/4 x D 16 3/8 in. BO895
