We are pleased to offer this 1925 Gorham sterling silver twin satyr and angel centre piece bowl.
In one of the firm's most coveted patterns Florenz.
Classic raised circular form.
Dramatic overflow rim. Adorned with brilliant raised satyr masks. The ghoulish heads with acanthus crowne and rolled horn. United by streaming leaf an acorn.
Above, spread wing acanthus body putti or if you prefer agels. Flanked by doves perched atop swirling vine pedestal.
Retains the original gilt swirling leaf and vine frog or liner. Allows stems of flowers in placement to remain upright.
Three medallion with engraved "EOC", "MOC" and 1927.
This monumental 1925 Gorham Florenze bowl is 13 1/2 inches.
Exceptionally thick, heavy guage sterling 43 1/2 (standard) ounces, not including liner.
Hallmarked as shown, both centerpiece and liner.
In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Stands perfectly even on table. The twin satyr and angel decoration retains its original rich vibrant detail. Retains the original gilt liner, with matching hallmarks, in fine state.
