Back when 4x5 Graphic cameras were de rigueur for police and forensic work, Graflex made this accessory back for making mugshots with two images on one sheet of film. Insert the film holder, shoot the front view, slide the back, shoot the side view. Simple and elegant.
The sliding back locks onto the Graflok back by means of its sliding clips. The back of this adapter is the back of a Graphic camera with its own Graflok back. You will need to remove the spring-back viewfinder screen from the camera’s back and attach it to the adapter’s back for use.
Why do you want this? You could use it to take a pair of portraits quickly. I used it to take stereo photographs of fossils. Depending on the size of the subject, you can either use the view camera’s side shifts of lens and back to obtain left and right eye views, or use a tilting stage to get the two viewpoints.
