George Graham was born in 1674 in the small village of Cumbreland, England. He became an apprentice watchmaker in 1688. Seven years later he was admitted to the Company of Clockmakers and trained under other masters of his time. Though he died penniless, during his life Graham\'s research and innovative creativity would come to impact the watch world forever. In 1715 he invented the anchor escapement. Other inventions for which he is credited include the deadbeat escapement, the mercury compensation pendulum, the minute repeater with damper, and the chronograph! The Graham brand is Swiss but carries on old English watchmaking traditions with its limited annual production of exceptionally well defined chronographs. It is remarkable what Mr. Graham started and the watches made in his name are representative of his talent, innovation and master artistry and craftsmanship.

The featured watch is a Graham Foudroyante in Stainless Steel case, measuring 43mm diameter, Fixed bezel.--The sturdy case houses a self-winding Split-Second Foudroyante movement which enables the calculation of one-eighth of a second with chronograph functions.--It has a Black Dial with Silver-toned hands and Index hours markers. Minute markers around of the outer rim. Chronograph -sub-dials displaying: 1/8th seconds at 9 o\'clock and 30 minutes at 3 o\'clock. Functions: Chronograph, Date, Hours, Minutes, Seconds, resistant sapphire crystal and Solid caseback, Black Leather Strap with Tang clasp. Water resistant to 50 meters/150feet.

The Start and Stop Pusher at 2 o\'clock is completely redisigned to feel as a hand held Stopwatch. Pusher at 4 o\'clock is to reset to Zero. --The crown at 3 o\'clock has an integrated pusher to start and reset the \"phantom\" secondary Split second hand.... Clever simple & beautiful solution....

Personal Note--Graham has some of the most amazing watches today and this one is no exception! It is a spectacular and COMPLEX chronograph which is functional and easy to read, operate and wear. I love the Black alligator strap too, it is elegant and stylish, and complements the Dial, which I especially love. A great piece, at a very special price!!

This is one of the most complex chronographs ever made.-- It is a \"Split Seconds\" which can time 2 different events at the same time, and in addition is a Fountainhead that actually reads to an eight of a second. For example in a regular chronograph the seconds hand will read 22 or 23 seconds & here it will be 22 seconds & 1/8 of a second!!
