Please note that the black spot after the \"R\" in \"President\" on the Colfax side is not a hole. It appears to be a carbon spot.If you collect coins you frequently see small black carbon spots on old copper or brass coins. They are naturally occuring but often appear due to storage conditions. Definitely not something that has pierced through the surface.
