GREAT Zuni Early Museum attr. ALONZO HUSTITO Knifewing Bolo Channel Inlay 1940s:
$499.00

Welcome!

I\'m offering for your consideration a very rare early Alonzo Hustito bolo, created in channel inlay of gorgeous stones, in the form of a knifewing warrior with all the trimmings, such as a belt across his chest and small recantles in his skirt. The inlay is immaculate, and the silver work is too, and is typical of his early work, thus the attribution. You can see similar work by him depicted in the book by Sei, \"Knifewing and Rainbow Man in Zuni Jewelry.\" I included three pages above to give you some examples. This is a very rare and valuable early piece, dating to the 1940\'s made with wires to hold the ties.

This lovely bolo measures about 1-3/4\" (4.45 cm) long and 1-5/8\" (4.18 cm) wide and the original tips are about 1-1/2\" (3.81 cm) high, a good size for the bolo. I replaced the tie with a buttery soft tie that is new but has the flexibility of an old tie. It measures 40\"(101.60 cm) end to end with the tips included. This piece is unsigned, which was the case in his early pieces and I do guarantee the attribution. Of course, the silver is sterling silver though the piece isn\'t marked for that either, which is typical of that period of time. The condition is excellent vintage, collectible and wearable.

This is a museum quality piece. This artist is world famous. His work was part of the CG Wallace collection that went to Sotheby\'s sale and resides in the best museums and galleries. He\'s a prize winning artist, the best! If the piece doesn\'t sell on sale I more realistic price will be set at Fixed Price. I offer a low start price on sale one time only, so this is your opportunity to snag it at a bargain.

This is highly collectible and a gorgeous bolo by one of the great master silversmiths in Zuni history. This is wonderful bolo, hard to find, especially at the pricing I\'m offering.

Yes, I sometimes can take reasonable offers.

I generally ship same day. First item shipping in the US costs $5.99 Priority or $3.99 First Class or FedEx overnight $20. You may add an additional item for three days at no additional shipping charge. Three or more items are free shipping entirely if purchased in one shopping cart basket. International buyers pay actual shipping cost and are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. I generally use Express International, which is tracked and insured, but can always consider Priority Mail International. if that is your preference. It\'s less expensive but not insured. To the UK and Canada, even First Class International can be used because it can be tracked to those countries. We can discuss it prior to purchase.

Returns must be in the same condition they were shipped. If I make a significant mistake in a listing I\'ll always give you a full refund. The 15% restocking fee does not apply when the mistake is mine. I care that you\'re happy and about my accuracy, and will always stand behind my work.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.

I am sorry to say I can no longer recommend ATADA nor buying from their members with perhaps one exception, and retract my previous endorsement of the group.

I request payment by PayPal in three days, but planned in advance of purchase, alternate payment methods and time payments can be arranged.

Everything I sell comes from my personal collection or is something that I would include in my personal collection. Most pieces are museum worthy and gallery suitable, sold to you at great pricing. I vet every item carefully for quality and condition, and offer you the best. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you\'re starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear or gift. My goal is that all my buyers are delighted, that my special pieces find the right homes.
