For saleis a very rare and highly sought after 1st trade edition of Grimm\'s Fairy Tails translated by Mrs. Edgar Lucas, illustrated by Arthur Rackham.

40 mounted colour plates by Arthur Rackham [withtitled tiussue-guards], black & white plates and many vignette black &white illustrations;

325-page text Large format: [ 9.75 ins. x 7.25 ins.].

Bound in the original red cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt, top edge red, illustrated end-papers:extremities worn,

Spine color is slightly faded, and fraying to top &bottom (see pictures).

The front and back boardsare in Good condition with some staining\\color fading (see pictures) to the front and back boards.

All plates and tissue guards are present and in very good condition.

Two plates with a small crease and one plate with a small \"scratch\" or repair (see picture)

One tissue guard has a small missing piece and one tissue guard is creased at the upper hinged side (see pictures)

No missing pages, No inscriptions.

Binding is firm. The book is very clean.

Overall - a Very Good and attractive copy.
