This set is truly eye-popping. The logo and all numbering/lettering on both the pot and matching lid are as crisp and deeply etched as you can ever hope to find. The pot sits flat under normal use, but can be made to wobble by pushing down on the left bale stirrup. Most cooks wouldn’t notice. All but the faintest evidence of pitting has been removed from the bottom interior which is almost glass smooth. The interior walls are in original condition. Rings true when struck.
Anyone who regularly scans for Griswold knows you can spend months waiting for slants as crisp as these to show up as a pair, (many get separated). This set looks spectacular and is ready for either display, or another 100 years of service.

Finish: This pan has been stripped to bare metal, thenseasoned with multiple layers of vegetable shortening at 400F to give it ahard, dry, almost acrylic-like coating. Your pan will be a mahogany brown whenyou receive it, but will deepen to a shiny black finish over time with proper maintenance.
