Antique Carte de Visite (CDV) Photograph. Identified in period handwriting as Gus Elkins, with additional very light writing on the back that reads \"Old Town, Maine.\" Besides the name \"Gus Elkins,\" the initials \"A. J. Elkins\" are also visible, which may indicate his given name was Angus J. Elkins. Measures approximately 2.5 x 4.25 including mount. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. The image has some foxing. Comments: Gus is a masculine name, often a diminutive for Angus, August, Augustine, or Augustus, and other names. This photo originally came from a CDV photo album consisting of related family members and/or friends (each sold individually) which included: Ed Lancaster (Bangor, Maine photography studio); Captain George Lancaster; Belle Lancaster (Bangor, Maine studio); Howard Lancaster (Bangor, Maine studio); and M.M.L. which was most likely M.M. Lancaster (Bangor, Maine studio.) Other prominent surnames included Cummings, Wallace, Elkins, and Waldron.
