Monolithic Moai statues were carved by the Rapa Nui people originally between 1250-1500 CE.

This is a vintage Mid Century Modern hand carved wood Moai.Itwould make a lovely gift or agreat addition to your Art collection!

The wood has a beautiful grain and patina. The Moai is wearing a \"Pukao\" headdress/topknot with his hands clasped below his belly and is carved with the traditional markings on the back.

The Moai measures approx. 8 3/4\" tall.

This item is an estate piece and in excellent vintage condition. The Moai has no repairs or missing pieces.
