The Dish Cross has a Central Spirit Burner with a Hinged Extinguisher Cap
The Four Dish Supports are Adjustable to Fit Different Dish Sizes

Here is a top quality Georgian Dish Cross with a central spirit burner and four adjustable dish arms with sliding dish supports.
It has a substantial weight of almost 19 ounces (18.9 ozs / 535 grams).

This classic Dish Cross was made circa 1770 and each slider is marked with the lion passant guarantee mark for English sterling silver.

The Dish Cross has a central spirit warmer with a hinged extinguisher cap. The burner is beautifully made, and has been tested 925/1000 sterling silver, although it is not fine Dish Cross has four adjustable dish supports that slide along the arms to accommodate different size dishes.
The arms in turn rotate to accommodate oval as well as round dishes.

A traditional scallop shell decoration forms the end of each dish support, and is repeated on the cast feet.
Each foot is fitted with a hard insulator disc to protect your table from the heat.

This sturdy Dish Cross is overall in very good condition, the hinges and sliders firm, with only some normal wear consistent with its age and usage – see photographs.

The Dish Cross is eleven inches long fully extended (11 ins / 28 cms) and stands three and three quarter inches high (3.75 ins / 9.5 cms). It has a substantial weight of almost nineteen ounces (18.9 ounces / 535 grams) of hallmarked sterling silver.

The lion passant guarantee mark for English Sterling Silver, consistent with the period, is marked on the decorative scroll near the top of the foot.
Fuller hallmarks would presumably have been struck on the original burner base.
