MEN IN DARK TIMES by Hannah Arendt
SIGNED first American printing of this remarkable collection of essays by the German-Jewish political theorist and philosopher. The book includes an autograph by the author, \"Cordially / H.A.\", on a slip of paper that has been affixed to the half-title page. Signed books by this author are rare in the extreme and usually list for $2,000-$3,000.
The book remains in reasonably good condition. The jacket has moderate rubbing and several short tears about the edges; also a small scuff at the spine from the removal of a price tag; looks presentable in its new mylar sleeve. The book itself shows some wear and foxing about the edges; the binding is slightly cocked but strong; owner bookplate inside the front cover; the interior is otherwise in fine shape.
The book is a collector\'s item in itself, but of course the real value is in the signature.
