Incised Marks: HBB for Hannah Barlow, and her number 126,and FCR for Florence C Roberts with her number 819

HANNAH BARLOW

Hannah Barlow was one of thefamily that between then produced some of the finest decorative works everproduced by Doultons. Hannah’s forte wassgraffito studies of animalsin their natural surroundings. Not only was she a maestroat depicting theform of the animals but also her ability to capture them in wet clayy wasunsurpassed. She joined Doultons in1871after doing freelance work for them previously. She stayed for 42 years until1913. Her task was to decorate the Animalia bandaround the vases, leaving the rest of the vase to other designers andassistants. Her output was phenomenal,producing up to 20 vases per day.

Our domestic postage price isfor mainland delivery for UK buyers, and the overseas price is for Australiadelivery. Other countries may well be cheaper.

Postal charges

Our UK postal are for RM Special Delivery - in two parcels. They include a small charge for packagingmaterials. Compensation for all UKmail and Airmail ‘Small Package’ is in accordance with the rates set by RoyalMail. Purchasers who require othermethods of delivery, or increased compensation cover, will be expected to bearthe extra cost, and must notify us before payment. Please remember that we have to add 4.25% topostage costs for the commission deducted by Paypal.

Packaging and Damage

For export items, whereverpossible we attempt to use new heavy duty boxes, but the variety of shapes ofthe objects we sell, may prevent that.In the unlikely event of damage in transit, would buyers please informus as soon as possible, and produce as much photographic evidence as possibleof the damage to the item purchased, and to the packaging. 100% refund will be given if damage intransit can be shown beyond reasonable doubt.Items are normally dispatched within 48hrs of the receipt of clearedpayment.

Description

Every attempt is made todescribe the items accurately. Adescription ‘perfect’ or ‘mint’ means that the item is ‘as made’ and notnecessarily free from all defects. Wewill attempt to describe or include in our photos all major manufacturingdefects. With items about 100 years old, however, normal wear and tear isinevitable. Major scratches will bedescribed. All white patches arereflections unless described as otherwise in the description of the items: wealways mention any chips that could give rise to a white area in thephotographs.
