Description:On offer from our private collection is this haunting mask from the Dan/We/Wobe peoples of Liberia. The various adornments — including cowrie shells, bells, magic pouches — are thought to enhance the power of the mask. A mature & serene spirit seems to inhabit this piece. Overall condition: good. As with most African artifacts, there are abrasions, minor chips, & wear & tear, & a smoky scent is still present. Wonderful patina. With its peaceful countenance, the piece makes a beautiful display.
