HBR-13C Ham Band Receiver in Absolutely MINT condition--An Historic Find:
$999.00

This is a rare, historic find! A complete HBR-13C ham band receiver. Hand built (apparently by W0DAL, RW Davis) with superb skill and care! This radio is certainly the best home brew receiver that I have ever seen! Comes complete with large body of data, including direct correspondence with Ted Crosby, the designer of the famous HBR series. Includes a large supply of coil forms--nearly impossible to find today--many wound for popular ham bands. The radio has a clean, unmarked, glass front slide rule dial (the markings are made on scotch tape on the outer glass) and is installed in a mint condition gray textured finish cabinet. It has a Hammarlund crystal calibrator installed.
The HBR series of radios was originally designed in the late 1950\'s with continuous improvement over a nearly 10 year span. This is the last of the HBR radios, the 13C, and of course it is the best. I can\'t say enough about how clean this radio is. With all the original documentation, the precise build quality, the top quality materials used throughout, and the fabulous looks of the large slide rule dial--this radio is without doubt a museum quality radio.
Of course, this radio is sold as is because of its age, but the pictures show just how wonderful the radio looks. This will clearly be one of the standout radios in any boat anchor collection. It looks better than 99% of the radios its age.
Since I am going to Dayton, I can deliver it there at no cost. However, winning buyers must pay promptly.
I really hate to part with this radio but I am not finding the time to enjoy it.

Added Note: I just plugged in the radio and worked a guy on 40m. Works great! I have to say, it\'s a little weird, having RF gain, Mixer gain, IF gain and AF gain knobs! But the radio work well. I have the 40 meter coils plugged in. There are lots of coils, but I have not taken the time to figure out which coil is which--there are even some UNUSED coil forms. I\'d love to add a picture of the bottom of the radio but I am maxed out on pics--but the bottom is fantastic! It looks like it was built yesterday. The construction is TOP notch--certainly built by a very experienced operator.
Overall this radio is just absolutely stunning in every way. I just can\'t understand out how the radio looks so clean--its like it was stored in a perfect Environment. There is absolutely no corrosion, no dirt, no damage anywhere--its not even dusty! To call it mint would be an understatement.
