For sale is a very nice piece of art pottery that I am attributing to Heliosine Pottery. This was most likely made by the Amphora Werks in Turn Teplitz, Austria. This shape is a classic Art Nouveau shape. The vase has some size as it stands 8 5/8\" tall and is 5 1/4\" in diameter at the bulbous bottom area. The opening at the top is 1 1/2\" square and tapers down to a 1\" circle in diameter.

The vase displays a bottle form with organic tendrils flowing and bubbling over at the top. It has more tendrils rising up from the waist working its way around the vessel and up to the top lip. The top lip is square shaped with tendrils rolling over and down the sides of the lip. What a great Art Nouveau form. The vase displays some of the strongest gold, blue and purple iridescence on a piece of art pottery I have ever seen in quite some time. The blue purple iridescence is brilliant like that of Tiffany blue Favrile and Steuben Blue Aurene. When I first saw this piece I thought it was glass until I picked it up. It is extremely light in weight for its size which is common for these pieces.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is unsigned as is the case for most of these pieces. I thought this might be a piece of Clement Massier of France as he produced iridescence art pottery similar in appearance as well. My research tells me he signed most of his pieces and thus I would have to lean more towards Heliosine. It is possible the signature is obscured by the glaze.

This is a wonderful piece of Art Nouveau pottery made by a master potter. These Art Nouveau iridescent art pottery pieces are highly desired by both glass and pottery collectors. This vase is in wonderful condition for its age. I would say this piece was made at the turn of the century, circa 1900-1910.
