This handsome, antiquarian, book constitutes the amazing and comprehensive history of Freemasonry. This book provides a collection of facts, stories, biographies, theories, letters, and symbols related to Freemasonry. This infamous work is rich in history and was written by many of the greatest Masonic scholars. It is a comprehensive and highly reliable reference for all aspects of Masonic history.
Condition: This wonderful, antiquarian book in excellent overall condition. Handsomely presented in full leather covers, with seven raised bars on the spine, hand-carved decorative work on the cover and spine, and bright gold-gilded lettering and decorative Masonic symbols on the cover and spine, the book remains clean, sharp and solidly bound. The exterior is free of bumping, but has edge wear to the corners. The spine has light scuffing, but not bad. The lettering remains bright, sharp and clear. The interior is clean and is free of any smudging or foxing. The pages are in excellent condition and are filled with wonderful photos and illustrations. There isn’t a mark in the book, except for the handsome, strong, period signature from Frederick Paul Hanford on one of the blank, front pages (see photo). The binding is solid throughout the book; the front hinge leather as broken through, but been repaired and the binding is solid throughout. The publisher spared no expense in producing this book as it evident with its many great qualities. The end pages are in thick, marbled, gloss paper. The interior hinges were reinforced as part of the original production of the book, firming up these important areas. The book has bright, gold-gilt lettering on all three sides of the page ends. The book is produced with high-quality paper. This is not an ex-library book. This is an excellent condition, full-leather bound, bright, clean, solidly-bound copy, signed by Mr. Hanford, of this important and highly-collectible history of Freemasonry.
