Offered for consideration is a MASSIVE vintage 1960s sculptural teak lamp with nubby silk shade
One of a kind! This was hand made by a hobbyist. You can tell by the hand routing, pencil marks, screws etc. It is amazing to me that a layman could produce such a fine looking lamp, especially since there is nothing simplistic in terms of requirements to construct. Every piece was hand-carved and fitted.
Good vintage condition.
Base: there is some wear to the wood finish. One arm appears to have been re-glued back into place. The brass ring in the center floats and is not locked into place. The base piece has slightly warped from age, a couple of bumpers were added to even it out.
Shade: Inner lining has yellowed from age. There is general dust dinge, especially along the edges.
There is a 3 way socket with an additional rotary switch on the base.
The electric components have been tested and the lamp is in working order. The cord is still pliable with no apparent cracking or exposed wire. The above being said, it is always suggested that lighting with vintage wiring be inspected by a licensed electrician prior to use.
