HUGE !!! Early, original Antique French gilt Ormolu Bronze Trinket Box casket Porcelain Plaques KPM?Great gilt French jewelry footed early Ormolu box Jewelry casket - with hinged lid. The metal is French Dore bronze with very detailed intricate work. Charming old patina on bronze metal from age; the box would probably date from around late 1880s or earlier; The hinge moves freely, and shuts flat. There are 5 convex oval plaques cased in the box panels as well as the top; all porcelain plaques are 100% hand painted; three of the larger plaques have courting couple scenes while two smaller plaques have floral designs painted on them. All my photos show the details clearly. Not marked, but is French origin; I wasn\'t able to check if any marks on porcelain plaques as backs are closed, but they are highest quality paintings just like KPM plaques or Meissen plaques would be; The plaques are in absolutely great condition, no chips cracks any scratches or any other flaws; The metal bronze box is in great condition as well no chips cracks or any repairs on the metal; the only wear is on the silk lining - inside the box as well as wood bottom is split into two pieces and was secured at some point- this is how it came sold just as shown; Also, there is a bronze old Victorian key with a that came with this box, but it doesn\'t work, so I don\'t know if this key belongs to this box or not- at least I wasn\'t able to lovk this box using the key it came with; the key is also included as the box came with it- so hopefully the new owner will make it work.
