Enormous Crichton Brothers Sterling Silver Two-Handled Ink Stand Produced by Lionel A. Chrichton c.1921. Measures 12\"L X 8\"W X 3 3/4\"H and weighs 96 troy ounces without Ink Wells. Four separate lidded compartments, two with fitted Ink Wells.(Both Marked with Makers Mark) Sits on four ball feet, one of which has split along the seam which is pictured below. Two heavy hinged handles at each end. Handles move smooth and tight with no jiggle, and both are marked. Applied Monogram of the letters H.Y. in 14kt gold. All compartments and lids are also marked. Marked on bottom Crichton Bros London & New York, along with Makers Mark and Sterling standard. This Gentlemans Ink Stand Desk Set is of truly superior design and construction for the period and is in excellent original condition except for a few minor pimples and scratches. There is a small ding on the lid of the large compartment which I have attempted to capture in the last photo.
