Offeredhere for sale is a FABULOUS, huge, vintage Navajo, Sterling silver, stampedbench made bead necklace and the nicest one that I have seen to date. If you like hand made stamped silver ‘NavajoPearls’ this is the necklace for you!! What makes this necklace so very coolare the very large round beads at the bottom of the necklace and the long tubeshaped beads...one almost NEVER sees this shape of beads made anymore! The necklace consists of 28 unstamped saucershaped silver beads, 2 small, 4 medium and 3 very large stamped round beads, and six tubeshaped stamped beads (2 small, 2 medium & 2 large). The beads are strung onsilver chain finished at the top with silver cones and a hook and eye closure. Nothallmarked but guaranteed to be Sterling silver. This necklace beautiful oldpatina but could be polished if desired...I will leave the final polish to thenew owner! This is definitely aninvestment piece as the smiths have stopped making these hand made benchbeads...too labor intensive! A beautifully crafted, show stopper of a necklace,in excellent condition!
The following measurements are approximate:
(I measure the beads across their center seam.) The28 saucer shaped silver beads measure 3/8\" or roughly 9mm. The 2 smallstamped round beads measure 7/16” or 11mm. The 2 medium stamped roundbeads measure ½” or 13mm and 5/8” or 15mm. The large round stamped beadsmeasure (2) at 1” or 26mm, and the center round stamped bead at 1 3/8” or 32mm. There are 4 long stamped tube beads that are 1 1/2\" long and 2 long stamped tube beads that are 1 3/4\" long.
Wearable length (as you see it in the picture) from the hook and eye at thetop, to the bottom of the large central bead: 13 1/2\". End to end itmeasures 28”.
