OWN ONE OF KIRK SMITH\'S ORIGINAL HAND HAMMERED PIECES MADE BY HIM IN THE 1970\'S. KIRK WAS IN AND OUT OF THE JEWELRY MAKING BUSINESS THROUGHOUT HIS ADULT YEARS. HE WAS TAUGHT BY HIS GRANDFATHER, AND HIS EARLY PIECES WERE SOLD TO ORTEGA\'S FOR RESALE IN THEIR SHOPS IN THE 1970\'S. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE VALUED EARLY PIECES. THIS IS HIS EARLY \"KS\" SIGNATURE. AS YOU MAY KNOW, KIRK WAS KILLED IN 2012 AT THE HEIGHT OF HIS CAREER, BY A HIT AND RUN DRIVER.

Thependant is 3 1/4 inches across and 1\" tall at the tallest point. The TIBETAN STONE is just shy of 1 3/4\" on its longest side. See how beautiful it looks on my choker necklace. It certainly makes a statement! (The necklace is NOT for sale).
UNIQUE
This stunning ONE OF A KIND pendant was made in the 1970’s—handcrafted by therenowned Navajo artisan KIRK SMITH. Kirk beganhand making pieces in the early 70\'s, and sold them to the Ortega\'s. This is one of those pieces. You can see evidence of the hand hammering on the back. Even back then, Kirk\'s stamping andappliqué work was exquisite. This pendant has been well taken care of.
QUALITY
TheTibetanturquoise stone is not loose, cracked or damaged in any way. Overall it weighs a hefty 1.9 ounces or 55 grams.
