Victorian Glass Eggs were often Hand Decorated and made Beautiful Easter Holiday Decor or
were useful as Darning Eggs.
Glass eggs were also very common in the mid-nineteenth century and were placed in an outside nest
(usually on the ground) to encourage the hen to lay in the same place (so the farmer could easily
find the eggs), and inside the coop in the nesting box to help induce a hen to begin laying eggs. I am
not certain what poultry this size might have been used for.
