High quality hand painted Christian Byzantine icon of \"Pieta\".This is an artist reproduction of an existing icon (15th century) from Benaki Museum, Athens Greece. Painted in the traditional way, using powder colours of stones with a mixture of egg and vinegar.Great example of the classic Byzantine style iconography, wonderful detail and finish.
