In this icon we see prophet Elias sitting out of the cave where he was staying in the desert of Israel during his percecution by the queen of Israel Jesabel. He is sitting and thinging while the crow is bringing him bread because according to the bible he was fed by a crow. Under his feet is passing a small river. The icon is painted with the traditional technique of egg-tempera with mineral pigments such as blue of lapis lazouli, malachite green ecc. mixted with yolk egg and vinegar according to the ancient byzantine technique on wood and while the halo is gilt with gold leaf 22 karats . The gold in the icon is symbol of the divine light.The icon has certificate of authenticity signed and sealed by the icon painter .
