Hand carved Santa in Sleigh-mobile with his animal friends by me, Susan M. Smith. I used to design and carve for House of Hatten. This carving was quite an undertaking. The sleigh, Santa and all the animals are carved out of one large, thick piece of cottonwood bark! Even the headlights were carved out of the one piece. I added the front ski and the base. Carved with traditional wood carving tools and painted in acrylic paint. If you look closely to the back of the sleigh-mobile you will see Santa\'s Initials, SC. People ask me how I get my ideas for my carvings. I have to say this one popped in my head as I was driving down the road. I have no idea where it came from but I loved the idea and jumped on it. If ever you wanted one of my pieces in your collection, this one ( in my opinion) is the icing on the cake! On this piece, riding with Santa, is an arctic fox, a rabbit, a brown bear, a harbor seal, a wolf and of course, a polar bear. I almost hate to part with it but I have nothing else to list!! I, personally, value this piece at about $1,800.00 The base length is 10 3/4 inches long, 7 inches high to the top of the brown bear\'s head and 4 inches from front to back. I paint a gold heart on all my santa\'s that represents my maiden name, Goldhart and I wood burn my name, date and Juneau, Alaska on the bottom. Free shipping in the US.
