Early glass decanter hand gilded late C 1700s

Excellent condition Georgian spirit decanter,very slight signs of use and wear,not cloudy,very few fine scratches if any to sides (usual wear around base rim),no chips,large polished pontil to base,period hand engraving \"RUM\" within a double rectangle frame.

Simple design with arched shoulders,square slab sided,would have been blown into a steel mould,hand cut squared off rim and unpolished flat sides having striations and glass working marks,nice hand ade slightly rustic quality.The engraved decoration is typical of the mid/late 18thC period,blown moulded simple rectangular/rounded stopper,English lead glass.

The glass having usual surface line striations and tiny bubbles you would expect to see in an antique glass,light scratches,reasonable signs of use and wear with nothing excessive.It measures 22.5 cm high to top lip x 9cm x 8 cm wide.Please note shipping charges outside of the UK listed below,see pictures for detail,
