Beautiful Handcrafted 27 inches tall AFRICAN-AMERICAN Cloth Rag Doll, NEWI created this doll from variations of vintage patterns; the styles of the dressings are my original designs.The face is hand embroidered, her eyes are brown color (they are not glued, they are anchored with washers into the fabric), her eyebrows, nose and lips are embroidered onto the face, the hair is a mix of three different yarns (of acrylic and polyester), it is currently designed with long hair but you can cut and shorten or re-style the hair with braids or ponytails if you prefer, the hair is sewed into the head with a brown colored yarn, if you see the picture of her hair, the one that shows the back, it was so hard to do the triple combination of yarns that I went a little off center in the back but it doesn\'t affect the hair at all it is very hard to notice.The body is made of 100% Cotton Broadcloth in a dark brown color; stuffed with Poly-Fil 100% polyester by Fairfield in CT, USA. The dress is hand made of new 100% cotton fabric, with hot pink rickrack accents; I used a contrast fabric for the cuffs, the collar and the hem, the pantaloons and underskirt are made of 100% cotton and the underskirt has a 2.5 inch wide white polyester lace trim at the hem. The boots and socks were store-bought, all the materials the was used in this doll are brand new, the beautiful quilted vest is made from a two-sided quilted fabric that I purchased in a fabric store and matches perfectly the colors of her dress, it\'s so pretty!
She’s beautiful and soft. She will be loved by girls of all ages, she can be dressed and played and cuddled with, if you love hand made creations you will love it, she will sit perfectly on your bed; she will look precious over your heirloom quilt. I started creating dolls for my daughter and her friends years ago and then selling them in different Crafts Fairs, I did different styles and sizes and then stopped, my darling girl grew and went to College, but now is another girl in my life, my precious granddaughter, and I have my inspiration back (my children said MOJO), I know that in the doll business the competition is great, I don\'t do my dolls in a row, just when I feel moved by a fabric or a detail that inspired me, and trust me it is very hard for me to let go my dolls, I don\'t try to make money or living on selling things here, I am a 60 year old granny, thanks to God I am inthe best time of my life, I am trying to teach the next generation to appreciate art, exquisite workmanship, and big and little things made by hand with love, if you feel like me take a look and enjoy the doll and the other items that I postedin my Store, they are one of a kind, in pristine brand new condition.from a smoke (but not pet) free Environment, I have a cat but she respect my studio and I protect all my things thru the house!
