Like the original, this reproduction of the CH445 Wing Chair is fully handcrafted using the finest materials such as premium fabric upholstery, a solid birch hardwood frame and pure stainless steel legs. Dimensionally correct from the groove recess to the angle and curve of the back. This stunning reproduction not only has the unmistakable look of Hans J Wegner, its as close as it can be to the original design.

Tweed is a flat surfaced wool, originally homespun and slightly felted. This fabric is sturdy and features a smooth overall appearance with a mottled color.
About Cashmere:Cashmere wool fiber is obtained from “Cashmere goats.” Historically, fine-haired Cashmere goats have been called Capra hircus laniger, as if they were a subspecies of the domestic goat Capra Hircus. Cashmere goats produce a double fleece that consists of a fine, soft undercoat or under-down of hair mingled with a straighter and much coarser outer coating of hair called Guard Hair. For the fine under-down to be sold and processed further, it must be de-haired. De-hairing is a mechanical process that separates the coarse hairs from the fine hair. After this separating process the resulting premium “cashmere” is ready to be dyed and converted into yarn.
ICONIC WEGNER WING CHAIR HISTORYThe year was 1960. Danish modern furniture design legend, Hans J Wegner sketched an upholstered wing chair literally on a drawing board using pencil and paper. The chair design had modern clean lines and an unmistakable Danish modern stance. The enveloping wrap provides the front ward looking encased structural groove of the arms. The precise curved wing chair back featured a crease folding inward which spans at shoulder height the width across. Yes, these features were aesthetically genius to the design. But they were also the foundation of Wegner\'s Ergonomics of modern clean form and comfort in functionality. History of the Designer, Hans J. WegnerHans J. Wegner was born April 2nd 1914 and passed on January 26th, 2007. Hans grew up in southern Denmark and early on made a profession in wood cabinet making. He developed an affinity toward crafting with natural wood. Later in life, he became part of the Copenhagen Carpenters guild and began attending furniture exhibits. Wegner will likely be remembered for his contributions toward Modern Danish Furniture Design. For Hans, this design would start with wooden chairs in his early years. Later he would use a combination of wood and fabrics in his designs, a good example being the Shell Chair.
In 1960, he released in limited production the CH445 Hans J Wegner Wing Chair. The wing chair featured a solid wooden frame however it was covered with full upholstery in both leather and fabric. Hans received more than a few awards. In 1951, he took the Lunning prize and Gran Prix of Milan. In 1959, he was awarded Royal Designer by the Royal Society of Arts in London. He made several of what are now considered his famous quotes with regards his furniture designs. “The good chair is a task one is never completely done with” and “We must take care that everything does not get so dreadfully serious. We must play but we must play seriously” are two of his well known.

Samples
We are pleased to offer up to 3 sample swatches of the Leathers and Fabrics we offer on other items. Samples typically arrive within 4-5 days for U.S customer, 7-8 days for Canadian Customers and 10-12 days for international customers (stock permitting). Samples to the U.S are free. International & Canadian upholstery swatches will be charged a nominal fee for postage costs. Contact us by phone at [phone removed by ] to order swatches. If applicable - upon placement of an order - Kardiel will refund the cost of samples.
Payment Methods

Sales Tax

Returns or Exchanges

A return authorization number is required. The item must be returned in perfect original condition secured safely in its original carton. Please Note: The costs you will incur with a return are the full shipping cost back to us as well as the orginal shipping costs incurred by Kardiel in getting the product to you. General Delivery Information
Please check the dimensions of halls and doorways prior to ordering to ensure your purchased items will fit in your home. Smaller packages ship via USPS or UPS. Larger furniture orders ship LTL using freight companies at our discretion including - but not limited to - UPS freight. Delivery is curbside, meaning carriers are not responsible for lifting or carrying the products into the home or business location. We suggest you have help available on location during the delivery. If you require inside delivery, contact us prior to purchasing for a quote. For heavier shipments you may pay extra for a “lift-gate” option. It is normal for the cartons to show some wear and tear upon arrival, but it is your responsibility to carefully inspect and sign if there is any shipping damage. Unless signed for and noted on the delivery receipt, neither the carrier nor Kardiel is responsible for any damage. All signed for damage claims must be reported to Kardiel within 24 hours accompanied with a photo for proof.

Orders typically ship the day after payment clears (stock permitting). Tracking numbers are emailed to you so that you can watch the progress of your shipment as soon as they are made available to us. Average delivery times are posted below.
U.S. & Canada Delivery Times
On average, U.S. customers can anticipate delivery within 5-7 business days from the time the shipment leaves our warehouse. Canadian customers can anticipate delivery within our 7-10 business days. Customs delays on orders to Canada are not common but do occur and are beyond the control of Kardiel. Canadian customers are responsible for all taxes, duties and customs fees imposed.
Hawaii & Alaska Delivery Times
Hawaii & Alaska orders allow average 12-18 business days for arrival. Tracking numbers will be provided. Alaska and Hawaii orders are not eligible for advertised "continental U.S" shipping promotions. Alaska and Hawaii customers, please contact us to receive a delivery quote.
