Harvey Era Vintage Navajo Turquoise Cuff Bracelet:
$185.00

This is a listing for a near antique, very early Navajo cuffhand wrought fromsterling silver and accented with a high grade turquoise stone.
Hallmarks: None. Tested as sterling silver.
Dimensions & Condition: Face is 5/8th inches wide. Inside tip to tip measurement not including the gap, is 5 and 11/16th inches…just over 5 and 5/8th inches. So it has plenty of silver length…actually more than usual for these really old bracelets. The flexible gap is currently 1 and 1/8th inches for a total wearing length of 6 and 13/16th inches…just over 6.75 inches. It\'s flexible and can easily be adjusted, and is easy to slip on and off... making this a great piece for a small or a medium sized wrist. It has a normal wrist shape contour and is quite comfortable. This is a very sturdy bracelet…it\'s survived almost 100 years with absolutely no damage. At the same time, it\'s lightweight, at 18 grams. It makes it a great piece for the person who does not want a heavy cuff but wants something of very high quality.
The stone is natural and has probably greened a little over the years. It\'s a lovely shade of teal with a translucent quality only seen in very goodturquoise. There\'s a small amount of golden brown matrix, but otherwise, it\'s a solid even blue, possibly from the Blue Gem mine. And it looks stunning against a background of dark antique silver. It was cut into a rectangle with a very slight dome and has an excellent hard polish. It measures 3/8th inches across and is 7/16th inches in length.
Style: The style is typical of the very early bracelets, simple with an obvious hand wrought quality. What makes it an exceptional bracelet is the highly intricate silver work done by an obvious master with an eye for detail. The stone is mounted tightly in a streamlined straight bezel then surrounded by an extremely and unusually fine twisted silver rope. Tiny tiny drops of silver flank each side and each drop is hand pounded with the tiniest round stamped circle. The band is chisel split at this point with each section accented with again, an overlay of a very tiny stamped concho and stamped with what appears to be a tadpole symbol. These stamps are handmade. The rest of the band issolid and stamped with partial suns.
This is a stunningbracelet for the person who has a love for intricate detail done with precision. The exceptional stone and wonderful dark patina are icing on the cake. Thank you for looking.
