You are viewing a large and beautiful carving knife and fork set by famed Mexican silversmith, Hector Aguilar, forged in his workshop, the Taller Borda, in Taxco, Mexico.

This carving set is from the very desirable series named Aztec, as it was inspired by his fascination with pre-Columbian art.

The handles are made from robust rosewood handles and finished with sterling silver spirals, this set embodies a fusion of bold, primitive style with the simple, graceful lines of mid-century modern design. This set is a book piece found on page 15 of Mexican Silver Masters: Hector Aguilar and the Taller Borda, by Penny C. Morrill (1996) It can also be found in ebony and mahogany versions.

This set is extraordinarily unique, and highly coveted.

The set is in excellent condition and has recently been polished.
