Authentic vintage Herman Miller desk AND matching credenza designed by Peter Protzman. These desk sets were produced for a very limited time due to the cost and complexity of working with the zebrawood (aka ayous). The grain is stunning to say the least. The drawers have smoked lucite sides are are very MCM chic.
I bought these from a local architect who was the original owner in the 1970s. In terms of condition:1) The chrome is spectacular--no pitting, flaking chipping, etc. It looks fantanstic.2) Wood surface--some slight sun fading in places but overall, excellent vintage condition. 3) Drawers--The credenza did not come with a center drawer. I had one made in addition to a new drawer bottom for the desk. The reason for this is that the original drawer bottoms were black plastic and easily prone to chipping. I had metal drawer bottoms fabricated to the exact specifications. I intended to paint them black to match the drawer pulls but haven\'t gotten around to it yet.
There is one cigarette burn on the desk top. Again, this is a vintage piece that is nearly 50 years old. The condition is excellent vintage condition.
I am out of space and just can\'t put this desk to proper use. I\'m hoping to find this a great home! I am a collector on MCM pieces and have sold hundreds of items on with 100% satisfaction. Please offer with confidence. Look around, this set is being sold for the price of a desk along.
