Freiberg was born in 1887 and died in 1941 of a heart attack.He was also a member of the New York State Assembly and the New York State Senate. He was sheriff of Erie County from 1930 - 1932

This badge is Solid GOLD. It may be a combination of 10K and 14K - appears to be combo rose and yellow gold too.It weighs approx 16.3 DWT or 25 gramsThere is a gemstone in the top, and it has a small chip on it near the table.Unsure what the stone is -- may be a sapphire? It is an old cut stone. Stone size approx. 1/2 carat.
On the rear of this badge it reads: \"Presented by his friends Dec 28 - 1929\"
It has a very secure clasp and everything appears to be original. It is an old style piece.Very special! One of a kind collectible.
Great addition for the serious collector or perhaps a police museum or New York collection.
Other than the chip on the stone, it is in terrific condition for a badge of this age!
