Hard to find/rare hardbacks with gold gilt print on spines, inside artwork, page edges and decorated front jackets. Intact fold out informational charts. All copies have minimal rubbing/wear to boards primarily along edges and corners. Numerous illustrations with perfectly flat tissue paper protecting them. Overall, I would say these are in excellent condition for 130 year old books.
Volume 1-Some spots on front jacket, signed first page and very slight discoloration at outside page edges. Copyright 1885, 380 pages.Vol. 2-Signed first page and very slight discoloration at outside page edges. Copyright 1885, 374 pages.Vol 3-Signed first page and heavier discoloration at outside page edges. Page 14 has some separation at binding, page 449 has small tear at corner.
